Graduating with masters in Educational psychology from Wrexham University with expertise in research, analytics, assessments, and interventions. My background includes a BSc in Psychology from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Before starting my master’s programme, I volunteered for Mencap a charity organisation by providing individuals with learning disabilities (Autism, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy) extra support and companionship to increase their confidence. I strongly believe in breaking down barriers of inequalities and recognising inclusivity for vulnerable people with disabilities. Prior to becoming pregnant with my first child, I worked for 3 years at HSBC for the Mental Health collections team.
Providing support and payment plans for people that are in financial difficulties. Assistance was provided to help vulnerable people come out of debt. I gained a lot of experience through working in a bank.
I was given expert training in communication (face to face and telephone), IT skills, confidentiality, safeguarding and using effective questioning and listening skills to encourage customers to discuss their financial circumstances. This was a very challenging role due to the sensitivity of the topic. However, it did give me valuable insight into how to advise distressed individuals to cope when facing emotional difficulties.
I have recently completed a postgraduate degree in Educational Psychology at Wrexham University (BPS accredited). I have gained exceptional level of understanding in research protocols, analytics, assessments, interventions, and presentations which will be transferable to the Assistant Psychology role. I am prepared to undertake further training to qualify into a psychology related role as there were limited opportunities when I graduated in BSc Psychology (Goldsmiths, University of London) in 2012.
