This would also include developing the HR policies and frameworks that would ensure an effective people focussed service so that the best talent is recruited, trained, and retained.
I have created a company-wide People strategy, and I am responsible for ensuring compliance with employment law. I also streamlined the payroll process which resulted in the reduction of payroll processing time and possible errors and therefore resulting in significant cost saving and efficiencies. In addition to my role as head of HR I also lead the Health & Safety and the Facilities department ensuring that we are fully compliant and that we proactively ensure we are delivering a safe and secure workplace.
In both South Africa and the UK, I have led on union negotiations and engagements, pay negotiations and disputes and all industrial relations matters.

These roles necessitated the ability to prioritise workloads and to ensure deadlines were met to a high standard and I engaged with people at all levels of the organisation across cultures, requiring excellent communication skills and a sensitivity to cultural and diversity norms.
One of the most important skills I have gained through my working experience, is the ability to understand what drives individuals and the processes needed to help resolve any barriers preventing them from achieving their goals.
I coached and mentored staff at all levels of the organisation, partnering and advising to ensure the best possible results for both the organisation and its people/employees. I always treat people from all backgrounds with the same dignity and respect.
In my roles I am also responsible for Health & Safety, Facilities and Buildings and leasing management.
I am confident that I have the attitude, skills and abilities to succeed in this role and to continue building the people function ensuring the organisation is a sought-after employer.
