During my time with West Mercia, I held a number of positions.
My last role: A Dedicated Hate Crime officer.
The role was understandably, quite challenging.
Duties included being an advocate for members of marginalised protected characteristic groups.
I offered enhanced wraparound care and I was a conduit between investigators and victims of hate crime.
This provided me with the necessary skills to utilise diplomacy and articulation, when speaking with victims.
I also demonstrated tact and measured language, when negotiating with colleagues, during investigations that had stagnated.
I emersed myself into the role and created pathways to deliver training to partner agencies and public sector institutions.
I was the principal trainer in delivering a training package across two Forces’.
I trained over 4000 officers in Body Worn Video.
I instigated a rigorous asset tracking system, prior to roll out.
Through feedback loops, I regularly monitored device hand outs and operational usage.
Prior to this, I was the supervising officer in the Road Safety Department, where I managed a team of Film Readers.
A core function was to supervise the operation of speeding offences.
This provided me with an ability to digest technical information.
I became a skilled asset for the prosecuting counsel, in delivering expert testimony during court cases.
Used IT systems, Microsoft 365, Excel, Word and intranet.
My experience of communication, both orally and in written form is of the required standard.
I would like to be considered for this role, as my experience at The Ticket Office in Droitwich is transferable.
After 8 years of frontline policing, I migrated into armed response, initially at Pershore, then Rubery, moving on to Bromsgrove.
I was there for 10 years, before moving to an office role at Hindlip, where I worked on several projects.
Most notable was working as the principle trainer for Axon Body Worn Video.
I was then asked to head up the Film Reading Dept. at Droitwich CTO. I managed all forms of the Forces' digital speed offences, and gave regular witness testimony at courts across the Force.
In 2022, I was invited to become a member of The Problem Solving Hub at Castle Street, Worcester. I became a Dedicated Hate Crime Officer.
Criminal Legislation. Road Traffic Legislation. Technical knowledge of HADECS2, JENOPTIC average speed cameras, mobile speed enforcement and GATSO static cameras.
I attained an OND and HND at Worcester Technical College. Albeit not quite relevant, it demonstrates an aptitude for learning.
