I hold Bachelors Degree in Geology and Mineral Sciences and a Masters degree in Environmental Management. I have served in various capacities as an Environmental Manager with a a lot of Sustainable development experience as well.
First, In my role as an Environmental Consultant at B&G Mining Consulting, I was responsible for conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation. I regularly prepared and reviewed Environmental Protection Rehabilitation Programmes (EPRPs) and worked with clients to ensure adherence to regulatory and sustainable practices and standards. This experience positions me well to manage sustainable compliance and practices, overseeing environmental certifications and liaising with regulatory bodies like SEPA, Nature for Scotland and every other Environmental regulatory bodies in Scotland and the United Kingdom at large.
Secondly, I have hands-on experience in site investigations for contamination, including well logging and soil sampling, which is crucial for pollution management. I also worked on projects that involved the remediation and reclamation of contaminated sites, which aligns with the role’s focus on ensuring the site meets regulatory standards for water and environmental safety.
Furthermore, throughout my career, I have developed strong stakeholder engagement skills, working with regulatory bodies like the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Federal Ministry of Environment & also Nigerian Mining Cadastre Office and training clients on environmental control measures. I have a proven ability to translate complex environmental regulations into practical, actionable advice for diverse audiences, which will be essential in providing training and support.
Also, as part of my role at the Federal Ministry of Mines & Steel Development, I conducted environmental audits and monitored compliance with environmental standards. I also have experience in managing environmental incidents, such as fuel spills and silt discharges, ensuring effective remediation strategies are put in place. This aligns with the need to provide HSEQ support, including incident investigation and audits.
Finally, my experience managing multidisciplinary projects in environmental and geological assessments has developed my leadership and project management skills. I am comfortable overseeing complex environmental initiatives from conception to execution, ensuring they are completed on time and in compliance with relevant standards.
In conclusion, my blend of technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and experience in sustainability make me a strong candidate for the Sustainability advisor position. I am confident in my ability to ensure compliance, lead sustainability initiatives, and provide effective environmental management for operations.
