I’m an experienced SEND teacher with over 15 years working across specialist and mainstream settings. I’m interested in moving into a role within a local authority SEND team where I can use my experience of working with children, families and schools to support positive outcomes.
In my current role I work closely with families, school staff and external professionals including speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and social care. I regularly contribute to EHCP processes, annual reviews and discussions around provision.
This has given me a strong understanding of how support is coordinated around the child, as well as the challenges families can face when navigating the SEND system.
I’m currently developing my knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice through SEND Law Level 1 training.
