Started in a seasonal position to assist on the run up to Christmas and was successful in gaining a permanent contract. Role involves providing excellent customer service, handling customer complaints and escalations, undertaking transactions with good cash handling and till operating skills, working in the loading/stock area taking delivery of products and distributing them to correct areas, working under pressure during festive periods, participating in store stock control, working as part of a team and using own initiative to resolve problems. Demonstrated good situational awareness to ensure store safety and identify fraudulent or theft behaviour.

After a few months demonstrating abilities took on the Person in Charge role.

• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively and providing a friendly and welcoming face to all customers
• Deal with unhappy customers about a service or product provided and escalate issues to manager when required
• Undertake a range of transactions with good cash handling and till operating skills
• Work in the loading/stock area taking delivery of products, ensuring they are logged and distributed to correct areas
• Work under pressure during the festive period, the busiest time for the store
• Participate in carrying out a full store stock control
• Work as part of a team or use own initiative to resolve problems
• Demonstrate great situational awareness to ensure the store is safe for staff and customers
• Identify any fraudulent or theft behaviour and highlight to the loss prevention team
• Demonstrate good timekeeping and operate a significant level of flexibility and adaptability
• Undertake training on fire safety, till operation, lifting and handling
• Take on the Person in Charge role to take on more responsibility
