I am currently working as a seasonal ecologist for Collington Winter Environmental Ltd in Bolton. I am looking for permanent employment. Throughout my season, I found the site work particularly interesting, cementing the career path I would like to take.
Throughout my time at university, I selected modules which focused on Ecology and Environmental Sustainability. I am committed to securing a role in which I can explore this further, combining the environment and sustainability along with the need to satisfy the commercial aspects of a business, looking after the interests of all parties involved, from supervisors to clients and stakeholders.
Experience in various types of ecological field work including, bat surveys, preliminary ecological appraisals, great crested newt surveys and otto and water vole surveys.
Bats -Nocturnal Bat Surveys (Including the role of lead surveyor, using Night fox Whiskered Cameras and Echo Meter Touch 2), Bat Transect Surveys, Dawn Re-entry Surveys, Bat Static deployment and analysis of the data, Emergence data analysis and Preliminary Roost Assessments with a Licenced Ecologist.
Great crested newt – Bottle trapping surveys with a Licenced Ecologist (including dawn identification) and Environmental DNA sampling.
Otter and Water vole – Field surveys for evidence along a suitable watercourse.
Reptile – Presence/ absence surveys and identification
Site Walkover - Assisted on Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Baseline Habitat Condition Assessments
Reports – Prepared Nocturnal Bat Survey and PEA reports
