During my short period of time at Sue's hairdressing, I spent longs days watching, learning, practicing and perfecting my pre existing hairdressing skills on the free days I had off from working my part time job at Asda. This experience not just showed me how to wash, cut, colour or style hair, it also showed me the required social skills needed to work in such a busy and social environment.

At RJ's American diner, I really was thrown in the deep end and was expected to go beyond my capabilities, despite this, I pushed on and succeeded in waitressing and provided a polite and professional service. However I did not stay long at the diner due to unfair work conditions and inconsistencies in pay.

During my time at port lympne zoo, I worked in a large team working closely together cleaning different types of accommodation all around the zoo. Being precise on details when cleaning rooms and making beds to ensure customers are satisfied and have a breathtaking experience to remember for a lifetime. With views of all different kinds of animals to see as you wake up in the zoo. I enjoyed my time at the port lympne zoo, but left due to the type of environment.

I enjoyed my time at bluebird as a carer for the elderly, traveling from one customers home to the next providing support with personal care, moving and handling, medication preparation, food preparation, basic household cleaning and more. I work closely with the customers family ensuring I write down as much information as possible about their health and well-being into their notes. This job has come with a range of challenging tasks at times as I support some elderly who have dementia.
I cope very well in this environment and enjoy learning new skills that will stay with me in time to come.

I am currently a support worker for adults with complex needs. Ranging from epilepsy, dementia, acquired brain injury, autism, learning disabilities, mental health and more. I support the service users with day to day tasks ranging from personal care, medication, cleaning, meal preparation, in house leisure activities and more.
I plan and organise days out and drive the service users to fun day trips out to the beach, cinema or just shopping to get their snacks and toiletries. I hold responsibility for their money and also support them to live independently daily.
