About

I am a motivated and friendly individual with hands-on volunteer experience in both childcare and youth work. I enjoy staying organised and proactive in busy environments. I take pride in collaborating as a team, as well as listening, effective communication, and facilitation skills.

Experience

  • During my time at Young Roots, I assisted in various programs aimed at empowering young individuals, helping them build confidence, skills, and resilience
  • Provided them with guidance in applying education (schools, colleges, and universities), employment, and other opportunities of their interests, which contributed to their successful integration into the community
  • Helped facilitate personal development activities and community engagement initiatives such as sports, interactive group games and discussions which were designed to promoted their personal growth.

Volunteer Nursery Assistant at Montem Primary School (JAN 2023 – JUN 2023)

  • Supported the nursery staff with daily routines such as arrivals, break and lunch times, managing personal hygiene and switching between different times of the day
  • Shadowed another staff member in implementing therapeutic and sensory-based activities such as bubble tubes and soothing soundscapes that were designed for young children with diverse learning and neurodevelopment needs
  • Effectively managed my time and responsibilities, which made it easier for me to balance multiple tasks that were given to me, while also prioritising the needs of each child.
