Lawrence Ekunwe

I possess an academic background in mechanical engineering from both my bachelor's and master's studies. Equipped with this fundamental engineering knowledge, combined with a proficiency in process simulation and analytical software's, I intend to continuously make contributions towards research, design, development, and optimisation of mechanical processes.

All through my career, I have worked on the maintenance of turbo machines, conducted research on energy systems, built energy management dashboards with Power BI, and participated in manufacturing process improvement.

• Managing an Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership sustainable manufacturing project between Aston University and Brockhouse LTD, a steel forging manufacturing company.
• Developed an ISO: 50001 energy management system for the industry partner.
• Built an energy consumption monitoring and reporting dashboard with Microsoft Power Bi.
• Currently designing a waste heat recovery system for the company’s furnaces.
• Implementing lean manufacturing DMAIC techniques to improve overall equipment effectiveness.

• Co-managed project workflow for the aircraft engine development engineering team.
• Created up to 15 technical user guide content for the Rolls-Royce (Civil Aerospace) digital manufacturing team.

• Trained machine learning models to predict smart homes energy demand for the Energy Emissions and Environment Research Group (EEERG).

Assistant Site Supervisor, Peace Omoshare & Sons Company Ltd. Nigeria. May 2019 to Mar 2020

• Coordinated the efficient supply and purchase of building materials, achieving a 2/3rd success rate by establishing a co-operative relationship with suppliers.
• Supervised the renovation of four residential homes on schedule, meeting every required standard.
• Developed a methodical approach to limiting the production of waste materials during construction and achieved a 5% reduction in overall project cost.

• Demonstrated precision in completing valve and pump maintenance on schedule with a five-man maintenance team, successfully servicing 6 gate valves and a boiler feed pump.
• Developed strong attention to detail in conducting maintenance tasks on HVAC and Vapor Compression Refrigeration Units. 
• Serviced a condenser circulating water pump as part of a five-man maintenance team by thoroughly replacing broken seals and O-rings.
