I have qualified teacher status and ten years’ experience in education, including management and mentoring roles as Curriculum leader for History and lead practitioner for Humanities. I have taught people of a wide range of ages and abilities including those with SEND and SEMH needs. I have used a variety of different delivery methods, including traditional classroom teaching, one-to-one mentoring of PGCE students, e-learning and live virtual classroom via Google classroom and Zoom.
I have effective communication skills and I am able to develop positive relationships with a number of different stakeholders including, students; colleagues; parents; outside agencies and governors. I am very efficient and organised with excellent planning skills. I am adept at switching to contingency plans when required. I am agile when working at a pace and am able to work towards deadlines effectively whilst handling a heavy workload yet also maintaining a high standard. I have experience of managing complex trips and events for over 60 people including international travel. I have made regular presentations to large groups on a range of topics and with a copious amount of different strategies to meet diverse needs.
