2023 Graduate - Environmental Science

Trained on NIR, FOSS NIR and moistures. Spent a month in the forages team and learnt to adapt to daily changes and the influxes of samples. Cleared daily sample backlog, daily communication between all departments on sample processing and throughput. Highlighted and communicated issues with sample processing (like instrument failure). Used a LIMS system daily, accurately and consistently.

Project: ‘The Chemical Composition of Rainwater at Hazelrigg Weather Station, Lancaster.’
Designed, implemented the project scope including Fieldwork to set up and collect samples as well as laboratory work, sample filtration, pH and conductivity. I prepared samples for Ion Chromatography analysis. I collated the results, reviewed GIS weather trends and interpreted results to provide insight into the water quality falling in Lancaster.
