Assessing Commercial Combined, Liability, and Property submissions to determine whether risks meet underwriting acceptance criteria.
Ensuring quality risk selection and adhering to underwriting guidelines in order to contribute towards profitable growth.
Acting within the scope of delegated underwriting authority and underwriting licence to agree quotation terms and premium.
Calculating appropriate premiums through the application of discounts or loadings, depending on risk features.
Endorsing policies to mitigate undesirable risk features.
Achieving monthly individual targets and KPIs and contributing to overall team targets as assigned by line manager.
Liaising with Senior Underwriters in respect of complex risks and/or risks which exceed delegated underwriting licence.
Maintaining a sound understanding of technical underwriting principles, relevant legislation and the insurance market trends.
Negotiating with brokers in relation to premium, policy coverage and applicable conditions.
Building positive relationships with broker partners and delivering efficient service to facilitate portfolio growth.
