My name is Mustafa Bachani. I am a very honest, friendly, and caring person. Along with my core subjects, like English, Maths and Triple Science, I studied GCSE Photography and GCSE History at Rushey Mead Academy in Leicester, one of the best schools in the city.
During my time at Rushey Mead, I have taken part in multiple events, fundraisers and challenges. I have helped to organise school charity events like Christmas Jumper Day, and also bake sales for charity.
I have also taken part in an online national competition called the UK Bebras challenge, an online competition which aims to introduce students to computational thinking. Taking part in this competition not only helped me to develop my quick thinking, but also my determination and problem solving skills.
In school, I completed a course called 'Talk The Talk', which was delivered by professionals to help students develop their public speaking skills.
Also, I have taken part in extra-curricular activities, like football clubs and table tennis clubs, which helped me to develop my teamwork, quick thinking, and competitiveness skills. Linked to this, I took part in inter-form competitions against other classes. Having the privilege to be chosen in these competitions has enabled me to work on my communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
Outside the school environment, I am part of a religious organisation, and have travelled around the UK and also to other countries including Switzerland and Kenya to perform in religious gatherings in front of large audiences. These gatherings have helped broaden my experiences, and have improved my concentration.
Furthermore, I have taken part in teaching at a mosque voluntarily. This helped me to build on my skills including patience, adaptability and leadership.
Another thing I have done outside of school is take part in Arabic classes. These classes have helped me by improving my discipline, and hard work.
Furthermore, outside of school, I started my own business that involves cleaning, deweeding and jetwashing gardens. From this, I have learned the importance of investment, and has also given me an insight into what running a business is like and what the qualities and skills it requires. which I think can be easily transferred into a job that may not involve gardening.
I completed a one week work experience placement at Uplands Infants School, with a job role of Sports Coach/Teaching assistant.
I've also done a few months of work in a mosque, where I taught children Arabic, as well as helping them memorise it.
Also, I currently co-own a gardening business, and it has helped me to learn different aspects of running a business, including investments, financial management and punctuality.
I have just finished secondary school, and I look to enter college in the near future.
