Nina-Mae Bartron

I am a Textiles design graduate specialising in surface pattern design and stitch, with mixed media approaches. My devotion to Fashion and Textiles stems from my lifelong attachment to art, which has led me to develop my own unique illustration style, mixed media approaches and innovative design approaches. From this I have had my work featured in Bristol’s underground arts and skate zine BOSH, start-up zines Chisme and TART, and have sold my art and garments through private commissions, creative events and on my online shop.

During my degree I interned at the innovative design house The Unseen, where I spent six weeks learning how to use thermachromic and photochromic inks within print, assisted in printing the colour changing Union Jack flag for Somerset House, and assisted the scientists behind the world's first colour changing hair dye. My skills in multiple creative areas, sharp eye for detail and punctual attitude gives me a committed work ethos which I apply to any job role I am working in.

Digital embroidery technician | The University of the West of England | 2022 - Present

• 1:1 teaching students from all courses how to digitally embroider their work
• Operating two Brother embroidery machines and one industrial Tajima embroidery machine
• Confidently using and teaching Wilcom embroidery software
• Frequently ensuring machines have had maintenance 
• Problem solving when faced with challenging projects

• Operating a six head and single head Happy Japan digital embroidery machine
• Using acute measurements to guarantee that the embroidery is in the same place each time
• Maintaining the machine, oiling, changing needles, threads
• Operating a plotter machine
• Operating a Mimaki digital printer Printing vinyl transfers using heat presses
• Working in a fast paced production environment to fulfill orders

• Managed and ran our own junk remodeling workshops for children to take part in over the festival weekend
• Each workshop ran for one hour, in that time we had the children design and build their own robots and assisted with any technical skills they needed
• Collected recyclable materials to use and made sure that they were clean and safe to use
• Painted murals for the shipping container we were based in
• Created timetables for the workshops, and made sure that supplies were stocked for each one

• Met and greeted customers, offering assistance with selecting merchandise, finding products and completing purchases
• Accepted and processed cash, card and mobile payments
• Opened and closed the store, ensuring that the shop was locked and alarmed
• Sorted large delivery orders, managing the stock room so it was tidy and clear of any safety hazards
• Distributed job roles in the morning to staff before opening
• Maintained up to date knowledge of store sales, payment policies, promotions and security standards
• Provided service with a smile, offering courteous and helpful advice to best meet customers needs
• Managed window displays and floor moves to meet company standards

• Wrapped, packaged and boxed luxury, high end bouquets to the highest standard
• Closely worked with the florists to keep production running smoothly
• Working in a fast paced production environment, working 12+ hours during peak times
