Rose Illingworth

I have been a freelance artist for the last 20 years. I have worked for a wide variety of clients both private and within the events sector, and have worked in a diverse range of locations both in the UK and internationally. Scenic and prop painter for festivals and events from Glastonbury to international touring shows.

I am the founder and lead artist for Art For Action, which has led me to run large mural projects in diverse locations in Africa, South America, Asia, and Europe. These community based mural projects were working alongside fellow organisations and large groups of people of all ages. My mural painting here in the Uk has been a combination of private and public commissions.

I have had several solo portrait exhibitions in the uk. Most recently I am also working as a private art tutor, and running Arts For Well-being course for adults suffering with mental health and physical disabilities. My experience as an artist and youth worker has given me a wide scope of experience

My arts practice began as soon as I left school in 1998, and I have worked as freelance artist since. My work has been for a wide range of clients both in the private and public sector, working in London and festivals as a scenic painter and project manager of large sets in festivals. and also running large scale mural projects here in the Uk, and internationally in Africa, Asia, South America and Europe. These were predominantly community based mural projects as the lead artist for Art For Action, working alongside fellow organisations and large groups of participants.

Most recently I am also working as a private art tutor and running Arts For Wellbeing courses. I have had several solo exhibitions of my portrait paintings here in the UK.
