Experience of working in the community in a professional setting as a teacher of physics, Primary school teacher , co-opted school governor and as a member of the resource committee managing the budget, staffing levels and through active monitoring, evaluating and implementing of policy. Studying an Environmental degree through the Open University has allowed me to develop my critical thinking and problem-solving skills .I have gained valuable experience in research methods through project work undertaken and I have accomplished several independent studies ranging from stone weathering analyses, aquatic invertebrate abundance surveys, I have reviewed palaeontological datasets, forming and testing hypotheses and assessed raw evidence to draw logical decisions based upon data and statistical analyses. I have vast experience in performing library , literature ,citation and primary research paper searches using Scopus and other databases.
With a strong application of numeracy, I have been able to solve complex scientific problems and have undertaken various data statistical analysis activities in support of these investigations. Using these skills, I have been successful at implementing energy budgets , carbon reviews , cost analysis and energy forecasting as my role of Environmental engineer. I have demonstrated strong scientific communication skills to both trained and untrained audiences.
Raising awareness on environmental stewardship through bulletins, posters and talking with staff was key to successfully communicating environmental issues and policy's. Managing my self-directed study has been key in refining my time management skills, responsiveness to change and my abilities to prepare and prioritise workloads. I served as a co-opted school governor at Knights Enham primary school and was able to support the new management team in revitalising the school.
I’ve been part of creating and reviewing major new policy decisions, redundancy appeals ,staff restructuring decisions , new strategic planning for the coming years and also served on the resources committee supporting budgetary decisions. I have started to study a National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management (NEBOSH) for my own personal growth

Print Apprenticeship January 1999 to December 2004 Set-print : Main responsibility was to create printing plates using artwork and film but worked in all aspects of the print industry from the planning stages up to the finished product. Produced accurate and precise lithographic printing plates and responsible for maintenance of equipment and stock control. Operation of a semi-automatic camera to produce film from artwork.
Operation of a single colour press/digital press and numbering and foiling machines. Usage of telephone and all machinery including guillotine, paper drill, laminator, folder and stitcher and performing daily stock audits. Built solid relationships with customers resulting in repeat business.
