My name is Preeti. I work part time as an occupational therapist in a hospital.
I have always had passion for cooking people and hosting lunches and dinners at home. I mainly cook Asian cuisines and I have always had interest in Mexican food and I have made few Mexican food such as tacos and burritos. I am from Nepal therefore I have noticed that some of the spices we use for Nepalese food is similar to Mexican food such as coriander, chilli and cumin which I use in everyday cooking.
I am currently looking to explore my passion as cook in my kitchen to somewhere else where I can serve people on a regular basis.
I started my career in fast food industry working in McDonald’s when I was 17 and worked there for approximately 6 months. I was responsible for taking orders for customer, preparing their food and serving them. I was working in the cashier therefore I also have the experience of handling money appropriately.
After I turned 18 I worked in a hospital as housekeeper where I was responsible to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for patient. I was Also serving patient hot drinks and cold drinks. while working in the hospital I was responsible for checking the temperature of the fridge and storing food appropriately. I also had to measure temperature of hot food prior to serving it to the patient.
I have completed food safety training and I am aware about food hazards, risk assessment and safety awareness while handling food.
I have completed Level 4 health and social care with distinction in 2011 from Uxbridge College
I have GCSE maths and English (both with C grade)
I completed BSC honours in Occupational Therapist in 2014 from Canterbury Christ Church University
