I am a freelance illustrator and digital artist currently based in Wales, UK. My subject matter includes character design, botanical illustration and cover design. I work in both digital and traditional mediums, including photoshop and watercolour paints.
I have worked on numerous design and illustration projects, including but not limited to children's illustration for video format, logo design and decorative design. As part of my photography editing work with Barrett and Coe, I have learn a huge deal about using Adobe programs like Photoshop and InDesign. I also have an intimate knowledge of colour theory and typography.
I worked as art director at a local bookshop, where I was responsible for creating a cohesive marketable theme for marketing purposes. This also included developing a suitable logo and creating illustrations for merchandise.
I graduated from Aberystwyth University with a first honours Bachelor of Arts degree in fine art and creative writing. As part of my final degree show, I participated in an exhibition in which I was responsible for curating artwork and providing a cohesive gallery display. I later went on to gain a Masters in creative writing with merit. I believe that my background in both fine art and creative writing gives me a unique toolset for illustrating with an emphasis on story and substance.
Since graduating, I have gone on to fine-tune my technical art skills. In 2022 I took a lifelong learning art course with Aberystwyth University, focusing on historical mycology illustration for natural history museums. Building this body of work helped me further my skills in detailed watercolour painting with a focus on both realism and accuracy.
