I have an MSc in Climate Change: Environment, Science and Policy from King's College London, with experience in the energy and sustainability sector.
I am currently working at Salix Finance, helping the public sector to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, to ensure that the UK reaches its net zero goals by 2050. In October 2022 I was promoted to Programme Coordinator and moved from the Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF) team to the Allocations team. In my new team, I am responsible for launching the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) 3b, a scheme funded by government, worth £635m.
At Salix Finance, I helped the public sector receive £15 million of grant funding between August 2021 and March 2022, as a member of the LCSF team, helping clients produce Heat Decarbonisation Plans (HDPs). This scheme is one of the most successful that Salix has ever run; 98% of respondents to a survey claimed that they found the LCSF team helpful and friendly. I have produced reports to inform the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy of the progress of high-value clients and have presented webinars externally to over 150 people.
I worked as a Market Analyst at an energy company (ElectraLink) looking at the changes occurring in the energy sector and how this might impact on the organisation. My role involved running and presenting at the monthly Industry Change Forum, focusing on the most important developments that occurred during that period e.g.
Switching and Half-Hourly Settlement. I was also in charge of the Employee Forum, representing all employees at the company and discovering solutions to any issues that employees had, and then discussing these solutions with the CEO in a 1:1 meeting.
I have a MSc in Climate Change: Environment, Science and Policy from King's College London. I achieved a Merit in my MSc. My MSc dissertation focused on the food security of Southeast Asia by 2050. Alongside this, I was also a Researcher in the Energy & Environment sector of the King's College London Think Tank, the largest in Europe. I have written two well-received papers for the King's Think Tank, which were published in the journal "The Spectrum" (see in Featured section).
I have interned at the Royal Geographical Society (RGS), evaluating whether grant applications met specific requirements and took decisions on whether they should be approved. I was also involved in checking and editing the RGS website, to make it more interactive.
