During my time working as a porter at the new Royal Liverpool Hospital I carried out numerous manual labour duties such as moving medication, installing equipment alongside operating machinery. I applied for this job role as my personal experience caring for my grandad both at home and within a care home environment encouraged me to realise my strengths, which I was able to transfer within this environment. I was able to prepare a safe, clean and purposeful environment ready for patients.
Support assistant at WEK (2023-05 – Present)
I became aware there was a community centre within my local community which helps elderly individuals, individuals struggling with daily life and provides support to people who are struggling in terms of a food bank, community support and emotional support. During my time at the WEK I have worked with a diverse group of individuals, from elderly to young. I have been able to provide a diverse range of support to these different individuals and learn more about myself through this process.
