Hi, I am Rucha, a senior product designer at Barclays.
Being a designer in past with agency, media, consultancy, I started my journey in banking domain couple of years back where I was not sure if I would enjoy the finance domain. However, I leaped in and today I believe it was the good decision.
Finance is a challenging domain hence sometimes it can be defined as boring for designers. However, I believe it is not true - yes only internal projects but here is a challenge of being in the same brand, work on products / services for years and keep iterating them according to users adaptive needs. It does not have complete end product most of the times such as external clients do but it is indeed satisfying to see your work keep growing day by day.
My ideal future bank will be:
Friendly and easy to operate for everyone.
Comfort a stranger to share their financial struggles like they are talking to a friend.
Not have fancy words and customers leading to struggling customer.
Give my grand-mum a confidence to use app without help.
support the ones who struggle with cost of living crisis.
My approach for a good experience is finding the right balance of usability, aesthetics, a keen business acumen and deep understanding of end users.
For the last 8+ years I have developed my skills in creating products that make sense. I have proven proactive end-to-end experience delivering enjoyable digital products and services for the finance domain. Clear understanding of technologies allows seamless collaboration with developers while strong communication skills ensure transparency with stakeholders.
