Teacher Assistant - Westwood Prep
(2019-09 - 2021-07)
During my placement as a teacher assistant I was responsible for supporting children in 1-year group. I built adequate and caring relationships with children by acting out as a good role model. I encouraged self-esteem and independence as well as strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance.
I promoted positive values, attitudes and sufficient pupil behaviour. I provided clerical support for teachers e.g. photocopying, filing, record keeping, collecting money and assisting in the display of children's work. I supported staff in creating displays and activities to support and enhance children's learning and development.
I have gained a lot of experience with SEN children in the classroom environment as well as in a 1:1 basis.
