Brow and Beauty Expert at Benefit Cosmetics (2024-05 – Present)
My role is to service customers with a brow wax (or other facial waxing) and sell our products to help them achieve their perfect brow and makeup looks. I will also advise on skincare and shade match products for their specific undertones and skin type. I assist the counter manager with daily, weekly and monthly sales paperwork along with any VM changes for new product lunches. Cleaning and stock replenishment are done on a daily basis.
Self Employed Beauty Therapist at The Collective (2023-05 – Present)
I rented a space and a treatment room in this busy high street Barbers and ladies hair salon. I was solely responsible for the day to day running of my beauty business including managing clients appointments, stock orders, social media advertising and networking, managing and resolving clients complaints and making sure I had all the up to date training and product knowledge to perform my treatments safely and to the highest standard. I designed all my own Logo and advertising.
Although I now work more hours for Benefit Cosmetics, I am still providing nail treatments for a couple of long term clients at the salon.
Self Employed Salon Manager/Owner at Beyond Beautiful (2021-08 – 2023-05)
Volunteer at FSL (Fashion Show Live) (2017-05 – 2019-08)
FSL is a registered charity in Luton which provides help and mental health support to people of all ages who are abuse survivors. I helped to run a 12 week personal development programme which would differ each time it ran depending on the needs of the participants. We would use a number of tools including a Holistic approach to boost self esteem and give the abuse survivors the confidence to be themselves.
We also had guest speakers who would share their life experiences and give advice. At the end of the 12 weeks we would work with the local Colleges and University fashion departments and give their students an opportunity to showcase some of their designs in a charity catwalk which would have our course participants as models. This was a fantastic way to show beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and to remove the stigma attached with thin being the only beauty.
I had the role of Head MUA for the Catwalk and any subsequent shoots we had and would come up with themes and ideas for venues, hair and makeup. I left FSL due to moving from Luton to Rushden.
