Hello! My name is Sophie. I graduated from the University of Bristol this year and I currently work as a call handler for NHS 111 Wales! I’m looking to transfer my current skills into a new role and gain more hands on experience!
From 16 to the age of 20 I worked in retail settings. I am passionate about working with people in face to face environments and in a close knit team. I am currently employed by the Welsh Ambulance Service as a call handler for 111.
What I love about this job is helping people everyday and making a difference to people’s lives. As this is a telephony role, I am now looking to combine my previous experience to a role which is more suited to me. I aim to work in an environment where I am working in the public sector, but doing so on a face to face basis.
I am a Sociology graduate from the Univeristy of Bristol! achieving a 2:1 in my degree. While my degree was challenging, it was extremely rewarding. I am now able to analyse and discuss complex information. I am also able to conduct my time efficiently and effectively. The content I studied itself has made me a lot more socially aware, and has taught me how to manage sensitive situations to my best ability.
