After a career primarily in both secondary and primary teaching and 1-1 exam tutoring up to A level, I am seeking a career change as a librarian assistant where my organisational, coordination, and communication skills are central. Throughout my career, I have developed strong client-facing skills, taken on significant responsibilities, and successfully managed complex organisational tasks. I am keen to bring these strengths into a library environment, where I can support both staff and visitors, and play a meaningful role in serving the local community.
I am especially motivated by the opportunity to help people access information, encourage reading, and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive space. Throughout my teaching career, I have developed strong transferable experience in customer service, administration, and compliance, working within a fast-paced, highly regulated setting. I am experienced in managing high volumes of communication with a wide range of stakeholders, maintaining accurate and confidential records, coordinating diaries and competing priorities, and resolving issues calmly and professionally.
I am highly organised, detail-focused, and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and ensure accuracy. I work effectively independently and as part of a team, always maintaining professionalism, discretion and a high standard of service.

As an experienced teacher, I bring strong communication and organisational skills, along with a collaborative approach, all of which are directly transferable to a wide range of administrative roles. I regularly work with a broad range of stakeholders including senior leaders, colleagues, parents, governors, external agencies, ensuring clear, professional communication. I understand that discretion and confidentiality are key requirements of this role and apply these consistently, drawing on my experience of managing information in line with professional expectations.
Planning and coordinating activities require strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritise competing demands and effective time management. I am experienced in organising meetings, preparing materials and contributing to structured discussions, ensuring clear outcomes and follow-up actions. Schools in recent years have become increasingly focused on managing competing stakeholder needs on reducing budgets and the Covid pandemic, in particular, meant that I had to quickly adapt to new remote learning systems, frequently changing regulations and priorities with a continued legacy of enhanced parental expectation
