Tory Miell

Studio founder and operator with over a decade of experience building and running wellness spaces from the ground up. I have founded two studios, led a yoga studio through co-ownership and management, and am currently directing Svecchā School of Yoga — a new accredited school launching its first teacher training cohort in 2026.

My background is equally operational and creative: I am as comfortable designing timetables and managing contractor relationships as I am building community and shaping brand identity. I have direct experience of every phase a studio goes through — pre-opening logistics, launch, teambuilding, day-to-day operations, and financial management — and I bring to each phase the kind of calm, detail-oriented focus that keeps things running well when it matters most.

• Founding and directing an accredited yoga school, managing all operations, programme development, and marketing
• Building systems and workflows across scheduling, booking (Acuity), communications, and student management
• Designing and delivering accredited teacher training (230 hrs), immersions, and retreat programmes
• Managing retreat logistics across venues in Portugal, Mallorca, and the UK including venue contracts, catering, and staffing

• Oversaw all studio operations: scheduling, admin, finance, and team management
• Managed teacher hiring, onboarding, and rota coordination

Founder & Lead Teacher at Bhuti Embodied Wellness (2017-01 – 2021-12)

• Founded one of Barbados' first locally-focused movement studios from inception through to full operation
• Managed full pre-opening setup: lease negotiation, fit-out coordination, equipment procurement, systems build
• Developed pricing structures, membership packages, and class scheduling using Mindbody
• Hired, trained, and managed a team of teachers and front-of-house staff
• Designed and delivered Barbados' first Yoga Alliance-accredited 200-hour teacher training
• Oversaw all financial management including budgeting, cost control, and supplier liaison
• Built and managed social media, brand identity, and community engagement strategy
