Will Flowers

Recent BSc Psychology undergraduate who concluded their degree in September this year. I am desperate to pursue a career path where I can truly help others and is largely why I pursued psychology as my degree. With experience in tutoring, volunteering and providing support to those with disabilities, I have built up the skills to effectively communicate, assist, and actively listen and tailor my own behaviour around those I seek to support. Likewise, through my educational attainment, I hope I can corroborate my ability to be a hard worker, and apply myself and my existing knowledge effectively.

Volunteer Helper, Uplands Care home (9/2019 – 11/2020)

• Tried to create a welcoming, friendly, and safe environment for those at the care home via a volunteer program offered at my institution.

• Taught KS3 maths via online tutoring sessions for a struggling younger student, assisting in improving their grade. 

• Worked either 1-1 or 1-4 with children between the ages of 6 to 14 who presented with a wide range of disabilities and distinct personalities, all of whom I would have to adapt to, in order to best encourage exploration and growth.
