- Confident in performing basic cardiac life support.
- Competent in IV cannulation both in children and adult.
- Knowledge and competent in assisting team of doctors in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures like endoscopy, paracentesis and thoracentesis.
- Competent in procedures like: 1. Insertion of IV cannula. 2. Blood and blood products transfusion 3. Blood collection. 4. Gastric lavage. 5. Foleys catherterization. 6. Oropharyngeal, endotracheal and tracheostomy suctioning. 7. Insertion of nasogastric tube. 8. Oxygen therapy. 9. Nebulization. 10. Medicine administration. 11. Vital signs monitoring. 12. Data collection. 13. Physical examination. 14. Health education. 15. Assisting central line insertion. 16. Assisting intubation.
- Performs professional nursing duties related to treatment and welfare of the patients.
- Responsible for delivering and maintaining the highest possible standard of patient care at all times.
- Foster good nurse-patient relationship.
- Check controlled drugs each shift in accordance with the hospital policy.
- Maintain patient records and respect patient's privacy and confidentiality.
- Responsible for maintaining ward inventory and stock as per hospital policies.
- Communicate with medical staff and other members of healthcare team as necessary and maintain good working relationship with colleagues and superiors.
- Accompanies doctors on ward rounds and implement treatment promptly.
- Initiate first aid measures in emergency situations promptly while waiting for medical assistance and prepares equipment that may be required.
- Maintenance of physical, social, psychological, spiritual and rehabilitative needs of the patients.
