My name is Vigneshwar Murugavel. I am a Indian-born veteran F&Bprofessional with extensive experience in Kitchen and Restaurant Management, Food Service, and Pre-Opening operations by virtue of my current and previous experiences, which spans over 2 decades across the tourism and hospitality sectors of India and the Maldives.
Presently serving as Restaurant Manager in The Residence at Dhigurah—a luxury island resort in the Maldives, I directly oversee a team of 8 staff in Long Island F&B outlet, while liaising with the resorts management on strategic and operational matters pertaining to the resort’s food and beverage offerings. Throughout my present and past experiences, I have gained extensive knowledge and experience with kitchen and restaurant operations, sourcing and procurement, menu development, staff scheduling and management, guest services, F&B marketing development/ implementation, and event planning and management among many others—all of which I believe will help me make a more meaningful contribution of my time and talent at your organization.
Apart from my professional experience and credentials, I also hold an advanced B.Sc in and catering hotel management from India’s prestigious Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (AMCAS), which has provided me a sound theoretical foundation and the technical skills necessary to excel within this profession.
I consider my leadership traits, and ability to drive results, even amidst complicated processes and challenging market conditions to be among my key strengths. My communication skills and team management abilities remain an asset to my career, and I inherently think through solutions extensively prior to implementation. Having worked in both India and the Maldives, I believe I am well placed to serve the expected post-pandemic boom in global tourism, while taking my professional career to the next level.
