Kareemah Maphasa

Hello Parents and students, my name is Kareemah Maphasa. I am from Johannesburg, South Africa where I studied screen acting. And follow Nelson Mandela’s strong philosophy on education: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

I have been living and teaching in South Korea for the past 4 years. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy working with kindergarten students. I have been able to utilize my university education to make the learning journey more enjoyable for the students by acting out and helping children “visualize”.

I look forward to working with and teaching students this year and hope I can add positively to their educational journey.

2021 to present:

Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher Hillside Collegiate, Suwon-si Instructed students between the ages of 5 to 12 in English second language course material. Delivered lesson plans, implemented school curriculum, and used data to create, monitor, and establish personalized learning plans for each student. Created a child-centered learning environment characterized by consistent application of sound mental health and educational psychology practices.

Played games with students to increase their understanding of subjects. Collaborated with other faculty and staff to promote rigorous learning opportunities, the general well-being of the school, and the collective interest of staff and student body.
