Network Documentation & Infrastructure Audit - University of San Carlos, CPE Department

• Authored a comprehensive network runbook documenting the infrastructure, IP scheme, server architecture, and operational workflows for a 3-laboratory Computer Engineering department network serving 75+ workstations
• Mapped network topology and wiring architecture, tracing connectivity from ISP through the core Dell PowerEdge R730 server and MikroTik RouterBoard router to PoE Layer 2 switches distributing to lab workstations
• Documented server infrastructure covering Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, and centralized 1TB file-sharing configuration on Windows Server 2016
• Catalogued user account structures, access privileges, and onboarding, offboarding, and role-movement procedures across Faculty, Student, and Guest user groups
• Assessed existing security and monitoring tooling (Windows Defender Firewall/Antivirus, Sophos, Veyon Master, policy-based URL filtering) and identified gaps in VLAN segmentation, server redundancy, and network monitoring coverage
• Formulated actionable recommendations, including per-lab VLAN segmentation, automated backup solutions for shared storage, and adoption of a dedicated monitoring platform (e.g., Zabbix) to improve network reliability and security posture
