Andrew Milner

Hello, my name is Andrew. I am from San Diego, California. I have worked in education for the past four years along with working on preply for about 16 months. I am an outgoing person that likes to learn about other cultures. I enjoy social gatherings with friends and meeting new people from various backgrounds. I currently live in Thailand where I am now teaching English.

I have four years experience inside a classroom setting and virtual teaching setting,I have various methods that help enhance understanding of the English language. I use technology of powerpoint programs with the help of visual aids to help teach concepts and ideas. I have worked with various amounts of students ranging from children ages 5-18 years old. I have also worked with many adults through Preply as well. Working with students with different English comprehension levels has given me knowledge on proper teaching methods for various students.

My most recent studies have focused on developing effective lesson plans and curriculum for students of all ages. I have honed my communication, creativity, and motivational skills through teaching students in a wide range of ages and situations. I have also been studying ways to address the common challenges that ESL students face in the classroom, such as limited vocabulary, cultural differences, and misunderstandings. To structure my lessons, I have been using student-centered activities that focus on speaking and listening skills, and I have been incorporating visual aids and questions to engage students with new material. I have also been exploring strategies for motivating ESL students, such as providing positive feedback, setting achievable goals, and creating a supportive learning environment. Through my studies, I have gained valuable insights and skills that have helped me to develop productive, thoughtful, and accomplished ESL students.
