Catherine Doyle

I have many passions that I like to fulfil in my spare time, some being:

• TikTok: I love making TikTok videos and being creative with my content. 
• Writing: Since a very young age I have been writing all types of stories, such as theatre scripts (I have a degree in this), books, poems and monologues. When I was 15 years old one of my scripts was selected and performed by Theatre Clwyd in Wales (one of the top 3 theatres) to perform my work and it was entered into a competition for the entire province and I was awarded second place. 
• Graphic design: I am currently studying a dressmaking course and part of the design for dress making is the pattern and print: this is where Adobe Illustrator comes in perfect. I spend a lot of time on Adobe learning how new tools work and getting creative with new designs. 
• Digital marketing: Since 2021, I have ran my own travel agency where I created my own website and market my ow social media platforms. As I set up the business during the COVID-19 lockdowns in the UK, I was able to take my time to truly understand how marketing works and how I'm best at creating my content to reach my ideal and perfect clients to make sales and spend money. I have been earning enough of a side income to afford holidays to places like America, The Maldives, Iceland and I have since relocated in Thailand, while still running the business and keeping up with my sales. Part of my working routine is scheduling in social media posts to keep my clients up to date on deals, important travel info and other fun and quirky things which make my agency different. 

Cloud9 With Catherine: Travel Agency In 2021, I set up my own travel agency business. I already had a passion for travel so wanting to sell holidays and solo travel trips didn't come hard to me. Quickly into my journey I began to specialise in selling honeymoons as I am a great communicator and couples enjoyed my response to their engagement stories and honeymoon plans. I attended monthly wedding fairs where I would meet most of my clients, (some were based from recommendations and referrals).

My job role while at the wedding fairs would be to listen to the clients to hear what type of service they expect and require, where their dream destination is and how I can help. I would add them onto my email marketing list should they want to keep in touch and after the event, I would proceed with consultants and creating their dream package for selling.

As I work alone and remote, I had to quickly become familiar with digital marketing and copy writing in a professional manner because my business and salary depended upon it. I spent a lot of my free time becoming familiar with funnels, reading social media data, devising a social media strategy and creating my visual image of the company and ensuring the colour pallets used and designs all worked well together and represented my brand in the best way.

Dressmaking College

While in Bangkok, I am studying a dressmaking course where I will graduate with a Diploma in Dressmaking. Part of this course teaches me the following skills:

• Time management: If the goal is to make a new skirt in today's lesson, have to ensure I have come prepared with the relevant equipment and materials. I also need to ensure I can complete the pattern formula to the perfect sizing and sew it all together. 
• Creativity: As I am using Adobe Illustrator, I am working on new, fun and bright prints that stand out to make my products more interesting to look at and desirable to buy. 
• Patience: Dressmaking takes a lot of time and there can be a lot of errors and misplaces stitches. I have learned how to stay calm when pressure is amounting, and to work towards a time limit while ensuring my work on the project is to a high, yet consistent time standard. 

Liverpool John Moores University: Drama 2:1

Between 2017 - 2020 I completed a drama degree at LJMU. Here are some of the skills I learned:

• LJMU was the first place where I practised marketing as I was a part of the management team for our yearly drama festival and we had to market the festival ourselves and pursue outside sales. I was able to devise a plan for myself and my teammates and allocate different job roles to ensure all the work is completed and to a good standard too. I was using Canva and Photoshop to complete my work while in University. 
• More creativity: To be successful in drama you have to be creative and that's exactly what my university pushed. They wanted us to think outside the lines and create theatre, art and new work which hadn't been seen or done before.
