Computer engineering MSc student working in computer vision, with an electrical and electronics engineering degree behind me. My thesis is about getting imagery off a UAV without losing what matters in it. On an aerial dataset I compared object detection models, chose one to mark the regions worth keeping, then tested compression schemes against it, looking for the point where a drone can send frames further and faster while the ground station still finds the same objects.

At work I am a design engineer on overhead transmission lines, and I write the software the office runs on.

Most of it converts one thing into another: NC files into manufacturing cards, manufacturing cards into bills of material and back, design geometry into drawings, plus a clearance tool that shows the clearance envelope on a 3D tower model and marks whatever intrudes into it. Day to day the work is validation and comparison over production data, which is closer to dataset work than it sounds.

Design Engineer at ŞA-RA Group (2022-01 – Present)

Overhead transmission line design. I do project design work and write the software the office runs on.

• Most of what I have written moves data between formats: NC files into manufacturing cards, manufacturing cards into bills of material and back, BOM analysis against production data, tower outlines pulled out of design files and into AutoCAD, drawing scale handling. Work that used to take days by hand now takes minutes.
• Built a clearance tool that draws the clearance envelope onto a 3D tower model and marks the members intruding into it, so the check is something you look at instead of something you read off a table.
• Built a conductor load calculation and load tree generator.
• Wrote a sag-tension catenary solver and the numerical routines around it for line profile design.
• Automated CAD work through the AutoCAD.NET API, AutoLISP and VBA: geometry generation, annotation and batch export.
• Supported design work on projects in North America and Europe, covering review, scheduling and coordination alongside the engineering itself.
