Overview

A multi-strategy investment firm in NYC is seeking a Junior–Mid Java Software Developer with 2–5 years of experience to join the Operations Technology team on a contract basis.

This role can sit remote, however occasional office visits in NYC may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software solutions that enhance operational workflows within trade operations.

• Collaborate with the Operations Technology team to understand business processes and deliver technical solutions.

• Design, develop, and manage trade files for trade processing and reconciliation within the operations technology environment.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technology-related issues within trade operations systems.

• Assist in automating trade file processes to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.

• Document system updates, workflows, and processes to ensure continuity and transparency.

• Optimize and refactor code to improve system performance and reliability.

• Support ongoing technology projects aimed at improving trade operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 2–5 years of software development experience, preferably within the operations technology or financial services sector.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Groovy.

• Hands-on experience with trade files, trade processing systems, and data reconciliation.

• Familiarity with database technologies such as Postgres SQL.

• Familiarity with Object-oriented programming principles, data structures.

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with columnar databases is a plus.
