I am a full-time Johnson & Wales University student majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a double minor in Mathematics and Psychology. My interests include medical simulation, virtual and augmented reality applications in medicine, rehabilitation science, neural engineering, and biomechanics research. With a resilient and success-driven mentality, I am eager to pursue opportunities that enhance my knowledge and skills in these fields!
I have interned at Boston Children's Hospital in the Surgical Labs, where I successfully navigated my first experience with animal surgery, using a pregnant rat model. During this exposure, I adeptly harvested livers and placentas from both the fetuses and the mother while collecting blood samples from both. Additionally, I worked at my university as a laboratory assistant where I proficiently managed the set-up and clean-up of laboratory exercises, prepared microbiology media, and assisted with general maintenance and cleaning tasks of the laboratory.
Furthermore, I currently hold an internship at my university where I am a research fellow in which my role entails collaborating with mentors and colleagues to design, implement, and analyze studies addressing various public health issues. I am responsible for drafting all sections of research papers, engaging in collaborative efforts with fellow researchers and my mentor, and conducting thorough literature reviews.
I completed my High School Diploma with a certification in Pre-Engineering at the East Providence High School where I held the position of president for their chapter of SkillsUSA as well as was the only student in the Pre-Engineering program that was elected into the National Technical Honors Society. I am currently in the third year of my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering with double minors in Mathematics and Psychology.
