About

Senior observability and infrastructure engineer with deep enterprise experience modernizing monitoring platforms, automating operations, and improving service reliability. Designs maintainable PowerShell and ASP.NET solutions for SCOM, Splunk, SolarWinds, ServiceNow, and Windows environments. Recent work includes replacing unsupported monitoring dependencies with configuration-driven engines, enabling team self-service, and applying generative AI to accelerate engineering, validation, troubleshooting, and documentation.

Experience

Performance Monitoring Engineer at Leidos (2017-03 – Present)

  • Architected three configuration-driven PowerShell monitoring engines to replace unsupported SolarWinds IPMonitor functionality across up to 46 NTP, SQL, and HTTP/HTTPS monitors. Implemented JSON configuration, database query and result validation, multiple web authentication methods, and positive or negative content checks.
  • Moved up to 40 basic HTTP/HTTPS checks to lightweight monitoring, preserving SolarWinds WPM capacity for complex, multi-step synthetic user journeys instead of simple page availability and content validation.
  • Created AI-assisted ASP.NET administration sites that allow a 12-person engineering and operations team to create, edit, disable, and delete monitors without hand-editing JSON; embedded direct links to Markdown runbooks for setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Apply generative AI as an engineering accelerator for PowerShell and ASP.NET development, iterative troubleshooting, testing, and runbook creation while retaining ownership of requirements, architecture, validation criteria, and production readiness.
  • Administer SCOM monitoring for approximately 300 servers across production and development, each with two management servers and a dedicated web console; built and validated the Windows Server 2022 development platform supporting migration from SCOM 2019 to a newer supported release.
  • Develop PowerShell and REST integrations that retrieve HP OneView events for Splunk, and design SPL dashboards that improve infrastructure visibility and incident response.
  • Lead twice-weekly Scrum meetings and sprint planning; review vulnerability findings and coordinate remediation assignments; oversee the ServiceNow queue and delegate operational work across the administration team.
  • Support 24x7 production monitoring through an on-call rotation and previously migrated OnSolve TelAlert alerting to cloud-based Splunk On-Call.

Windows System Administrator at Leidos (2017-03 – 2020-05)

  • Administered Windows servers supporting IBM Domino and other enterprise applications; automated repetitive administration with PowerShell to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.

IT Manager at Zimmerman Auto Brokers (2016-10 – 2017-03)

  • Directed workstation, server, software, and endpoint operations; supervised freelance support resources and advised leadership on cloud modernization opportunities.

Domino Administrator and Developer at City of West Palm Beach (2015-09 – 2016-06)

  • Administered the municipal email environment, automated PDF-based message archiving, removed malware-laden messages at scale, and identified $36,000 in immediate support-contract savings during the Office 365 migration.

Domino Administrator and Developer at Assurant (2004-08 – 2015-09)

  • Led enterprise Domino administration and built tools that reduced manual work and Tier 1 and Tier 2 support demand; promoted to Team Lead overseeing three offshore contractors.
  • Directed a server-consolidation program that reduced the Domino server footprint by 51 percent and generated more than $100,000 in annual savings.
  • Developed LotusScript and C utilities to analyze mailboxes and databases for Domino-to-Office 365 migration planning; led Quickr, Domino Document Manager, Sametime, Exchange-to-Domino, and Domino-to-Office 365 initiatives.

Earlier Technology Roles at Applied Card Systems, Certified Vacations, Broken Sound Country Club (2001 – 2004)

  • Held lead software development, Lotus Notes development, and network and desktop support roles with Applied Card Systems, Certified Vacations, and Broken Sound Country Club.
