During my last year of college, I had an internship at Public Hotel in Chicago as a housekeeping coordinator. In that role, I constantly ensured consistency of payroll and communication with accounting department. There were 50+ employees in the department that I managed due to changes within management while working there.
After graduation, I landed my first full time job as a banquet administrative assistant at Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel. My daily responsibilities consisted of auditing all banquet checks to include consumption reports prior to submission to client, constant communication between departments to execute client demands, weekly development of scheduling 30+ employees with daily updates as well continual payout of gratuity to banquet staff members.
I worked in the banquets department for a little less than two years before being transferred to Human Resources. I assisted the Human Resource staff as a generalist as well as worked closely with payroll and finance department in regards to paystubs. Another important part of my job was to update and maintain Human Resource forms, documents and all team member files paper and electronically.
I worked in Human Resources for a little over a year until I gave birth to my son and decided to become a stay at home mom.
