Manager/Assistant Manager/General Manager at C. F.
Jones Ole Tyme Ice Cream
Co (2020-10 – Present)
As someone who began as a general staff member and worked her way up to management, I have gained and utilized many skills over the years.
- People skills and caring for customer service are an absolute must. I am responsible for our customers being satisfied enough to return on every shift I manage. This includes a wide variety of things because each facet and step is important to overall satisfaction and having repeat customers. That is very important for consistency in sales and to drive lower labor and food costs.
- On every shift i am responsible for making sure business runs smoothly. I oversee and lead daily operations and step in anywhere I'm needed to make sure every sale is handled accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Not only is customer satisfaction important, but staff relationship is as well! I am responsible for ensuring our staff is trained, their health and safety prioritized, and that any internal issues are handled quickly with care. Our employees have ranged in age from 15-70 so this means I have learned much over the years about handling all different kinds of personalities and issues.
- I am responsible for monitoring daily sales and labor costs. When acting as GM it fell to me to ensure business is making a profit. Making sure adequate but not excessive staff are scheduled, that sales and money are handled appropriately, that food cost is kept low, and that adjustments be made in real time as necessary.
- Responsible for daily and weekly paperwork and data. Daily use of Microsoft computer programs and data entry.
- Responsible for large amounts of money each day. Each shift calls for drawer balancing and any excess to be deposited.
- Responsible for having accounts and monitoring different apps and software used by the business owner to upload and track business data. Math skills used on a daily basis.
- Responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are properly followed for the benefit, health, and safety of customers, staff, and employees.
