Amaris Frias is currently in her fourth year at Tulane University as a Communications and Digital Media Practices Major. She currently works as an administrative aide at the Tulane Center for Public Service, as well as a video team member for Green Wave Football. She is also involved with Students Against Food Insecurity as a publicity and social media chair, the Nu Mu Citywide Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as Social Action Chair and Chapter President, and Tulane’s chapter of Black Menaces, which use their social media presence to engage in meaningful conversation with Tulane students surrounding topics like race, gender, sexuality, reproductive rights, etc.
Post-graduation, Amaris has plans of concentrating in cinematography and working in music video production or management of new media for a sports team. Her dream is to use her artistic vision to help others tell their stories through the media she creates. Amaris is passionate about social action, and some of her focuses in her work outside of school are prison reform, food insecurity, Black maternal health.
In her free time, Amaris enjoys watching movies, listening to music, rollerskate dancing, and filming her experiences with her friends.
