Andrew Villegas

I’m a board-certified critical care nurse (PCCN, CMC), MSN-prepared, with hands-on experience in ICU, step-down, and trauma settings. As a first-generation nurse and veteran, I understand the grit it takes to grow in this profession. I’m passionate about developing future nurses through real-world clinical judgment, compassionate care, and high standards.

My teaching style is grounded in accountability, clear communication, and empowering students to connect evidence-based practice with bedside reality. I believe in modeling resilience and professionalism especially in high-stress environments.

I’m a critical care nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing and certifications in PCCN and CMC, currently preparing for the CCRN. I have clinical experience in ICU, stepdown, and trauma settings, with a strong focus on critical thinking, patient-centered care, and real-world clinical application. I’ve served as a preceptor and take pride in mentoring new nurses through high-stakes environments.

As a U.S. Army veteran and first-generation college graduate, I bring discipline, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the power of education. I also serve as Secretary-Elect for the AACN Central Valley Chapter, where I support initiatives to advance nursing excellence and leadership in our region.

My background, leadership, and hands-on experience position me to guide future nurses with accountability, empathy, and clinical strength.

I hold a Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I am currently preparing for CCRN certification and planning to complete the Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) course to expand my trauma-focused expertise.
