My love and passion for social media and marketing started at a very young age. When I first downloaded Instagram in 7th grade, I fell in love with basketball, the NBA, and the humorous online jokes surrounding it that my friends and I sent each other. I created my own “NBA memes” account which rose to 10,000 followers within two years. Then, I reached 100,000 followers two years after that.
This account gave me countless first-hand experiences about how to own a small business, negotiation tactics, consistency, and how to keep your supporters happy. I never would have thought as a 13 year old that this account would be the introduction to the passion I would want to spend the rest of my life doing.
In 2022, I transferred from my local community college to the University of California, Riverside, where I studied business administration with a concentration in marketing. It was at university where I learned more about marketing and management, and where my love was reinforced. I graduated in June 2024 and looked for a job position where I could take my knowledge and experience and grow even further.
I returned to Arrowood Golf Course, where I worked as a 17 year old in the cart barn washing and cleaning golf carts as my first real job. Five years later, I was granted the position of being the first Brand Manager in the course’s 20 year history, where I handled the marketing campaigns at all levels and designed hundreds of flyers concerning course updates and sales. I was also tasked to run all social medias, where I filmed, created, and uploaded original photos and videos for our golf course guests to enjoy.
The position taught me how to work as a team, make strategic adjustments where needed, and to be organized above all else.
