Being a Veterinary Assistant taught me the skills to communicate with people, the love of helping others, and my interest in venipuncture. With 2 years experience of venipuncture and catheter placements in a variety of cats and dogs, I found my calling in helping people, being a comfort to them in their time of need, aiding in the diagnostic process of venipuncture, and being an uplifting coworker by bringing joy to those around me. I love being creative, supportive, and a hand to lift others up.
Starting my work experience at Dominos at the age of 17, I learned teamwork, responsibility, and customer service. I was quickly entrusted with opening and managing the store for the duration of the day until evening shift. My calling changed after high school and I was hired at Sunrise Veterinary Clinic as a kennel assistant.
I wanted to work with animals. For the past 3.5 years, I have worked up to veterinary assistant, exam room assistant, and customer service representative. The varied roles have taught me many skills, including flexibility, attention to detail, and communication in a leadership position.
I recently obtained my phlebotomy certification at Phlebotomy Training Specialist and am working to obtain my license in Washington state. I am also recently certified in basic life support.
