Musician/Music Researcher

Hello!
Not many would think this, but musicians are some of the most inquisitive and diligent researchers. My dedication to the craft of music has worked in tandem with my keen desire to delve deeply into different topics. I spent most of my semesters at Howard University in music history and ethnomusicology courses. I currently spend most of my waking hours combing through podcasts, YouTube videos and pop culture publications to satisfy my hunger for musical and cultural discourse.
After leaving college, I began to learn audio production on my own, via various YouTube tutorials and reverse engineering different techniques I heard in different songs I loved (I have my own method for creating a type of "wall of sound" for my music). Currently, I produce, mix and master my band's music (linktr.ee/orisun) and am recording and producing tracks for other musicians in the Chicago scene.
I am also an experienced customer service associate with demonstrated skills in client/customer research as well as data/inventory maintenance. I am a dependable asset to any team I’m on, using my product knowledge along with empathy to satisfy the differing needs of all parties.
I've developed and executed strategies as a producer, musician and customer service professional that I believe would make me a great fit for this position. I'm especially interested in working with a remote team, as I believe this style of work allows teams to learn from people from different walks of life, and expand their network and perspective. I’d appreciate getting an opportunity to talk more about my qualifications and experiences.
Feel free to contact me, I’d also be available for a Google Meet/Zoom meeting if you’d like!
