Gayle Cloud is a musician and Music Therapist, MT-BC, MTL, with music and music therapy degrees. Based in Bellingham, WA, she is known for her ability to use intuitive, diverse and easy musical activities to engage participants in transformative sessions and creative expression. Her career as a professional musician was launched in Paris and NYC, where she performed and recorded both jazz and her original music.
She has practiced for a number of years as music therapist in medical, corporate and private settings, most recently at UWMC, where she worked with critical care patients and mentored university students. Gayle received notable media coverage for these musical contributions.

Gayle is a pioneer and a visionary who continues to spearhead new music therapy programs. As part of the "Arts and Healing" program, she introduced the University of Washington Medical Center's first music therapy offering. At the medical center, Gayle worked in individual and group settings with patients in rehabilitation, pain management, intensive and neonatal intensive care.
Gayle also created the first music therapy group program at the Swedish MS Center for outpatients who are living with neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's. Gayle developed memory-care group music therapy programs for individuals living with dementia and Alzheimer’s at the Hearthstone and Quail Park retirement communities. She also has worked with children and adults who have Autism and ADHD.
Gayle continues to work with a diversity of clients in medical, education, corporate and private settings. She believes in collaboration with wellness teams, creative therapists, caregivers and families to create communities of support for individuals who are facing physical or psychological challenges. She also has experience mentoring students and working with individuals from different cultures.
While her main instrument is voice, Gayle plays the piano, guitar, flute and an array of percussion instruments. She is passionate about music--in particular, how music therapy can transform lives, heal the spirit and provide hope for an abundant life, regardless of the physical, emotional, cognitive or spiritual challenges one may be experiencing. Working often with individuals who are living with chronic illnesses, Gayle helps clients find freedom of expression and support for their healing and wellness goals.
Known for her exuberant spirit and uniquely creative music therapy sessions, her clients are encouraged to work through challenges and embrace the stellar qualities that define them as extraordinary human beings.
