I am a third-year Neurobiology major with a Deaf Studies Certificate. My goal through my undergraduate studies is to find research opportunities, shadow multiple professions within the medical field, and work in an area of my interest within the field. Currently, my interests are centered around neurological disorders and global health issues, so I am preparing for the MCAT to enter medical school once I graduate.
I recently completed a study abroad experience in Seoul, South Korea for me to expand my cultural competence and understanding of global healthcare. On campus, I am currently the President of UC One for the World which is a nonprofit organization with a mission to end global poverty. I am also involved in the ENGin language exchange program, HOSA-future health professionals, and the ASL Club which all focus on becoming more connected with different communities.
My next goals are focused on gaining more experience in the healthcare field through shadowing and internships!
I am currently a full-time student at the University of Cincinnati. However, I have had experience shadowing physicians in the UC Emergency Department and UCMC Neurocritical ICU. In order to grow my experience in research, I have worked in the Vorhees Lab at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. This helped me gain exposure to the research process, lab responsibilities, and learn more about the cognitive impacts on mouse models when exposed to different environments.
I have completed my high-school diploma at William Mason High School in 2020. I am now working on my Bachelor's Degree at the University of Cincinnati. My major is Neurobiology with a pre-medical focus. I am also completing a Deaf Studies Certificate.
