About
I'm a biomedical engineer with a PhD from Carnegie Mellon and a lifelong commitment to animal welfare. I founded Pigsburgh Squealers Rescue in 2017, a 501(c)(3) sanctuary that has helped rescue more than 430 pigs. I oversee daily care for over 40 resident animals, coordinate their medical treatment and nutrition, and provide sedation-free hoof care to more than 300 client households.
I also work as a veterinary assistant at VCA Valley Vet Animal Hospital, where I use fear-free handling techniques, administer medications and vaccines, perform venipuncture, and help clients understand their pets' treatment plans. My years developing Class III cardiovascular devices at PECA Labs shaped how I work: I'm methodical, evidence-driven, and careful with documentation. I'd love to bring that mix of clinical skill, scientific rigor, and compassion for animals and the people who love them to your team.
