Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center: September 2022 – December 2022 (Intern)
- Observe guards in supervision of facility and the culture of the center
- Establish positive rapport and build trust while maintaining a level of respect and authority
- Entrusted to ensure safety of juveniles
- Supervise juveniles according to policies and procedures
- Adhere to daily schedule and maintain accurate count of juveniles
- Communicate effectively with juveniles to ensure awareness of areas and surroundings
- Experience with understanding child and adolescent development and recognizing behaviors and triggers
- Maintain confidentiality of juveniles and facility
