I recently decided to leave academia to pursue some of my creative interests. I currently work as a freelance scientific writer and illustrator. I'm learning how to renovate and design small spaces in unique and creative ways, with the hope of turning what I've learned into a business one day.
When I'm not trying to be an artist, I bartend for a local catering business where I enjoy coming up with interesting craft cocktails to complement a themed dinner party or make the perfect wedding drinks for the bride and groom.
I've been bartending - from working at dive bars to fine dining - for about as long as I've been doing science (roughly half my life). I'm looking for more opportunities to bartend - especially if tiki drinks are involved. Life is just better with a tiny umbrella and a well-placed garnish.
